on being kind

it goes without a saying that do not do unto others what you do not want others do unto you... therefore, people try to be nice always to others in order for them to be treated well and fair.

i sometimes argue with the idea of being kind to other people especially to those who you really do not know well. at times when you try your best to help others, a simple thank you would be very difficult to earn in return. worst, they would even say that they don't need any help. what if i am the one in need, will they also be kind enough to lend me a hand? trying to be nice and kind sometimes put in a crossroad. is this person worthy enough to be helped or he was just using me for his own good?

whatever it is, helping a stranger in need is worth-doing not because you need something in return but because it makes you feel light knowing that even in a very simple and little way you were able to be of help....
